It’s been a little while since I’ve blogged. It can be overwhelming wearing a thousand hats to run a business, especially when you’re also a mom to four kids. The truth is that I’ve found that mixing what I love with running a business is challenging.

Rather than creating out of passion, joy, and nirvana, I create out of necessity to stock my table. Weekends are spent traveling to art markets with everything in tow, hoping to create a sustainable income.

As we get closer to the holidays, I find myself longing to be home with my family on the weekends. I want to do the hay rides, the Nights of Lights in St. Augustine, the Christmas parties, and fall festivals. I’m tired of sending my husband to do the fun things with the kids while I’m working, often in extreme heat, to sell the things I’ve loved creating.

I want to create from a place of abundance instead of necessity. Instead of making lots of items, I want to make a few killer items. I feel change in the air. I don’t know what that will be, but I feel it.

Speaking of killer items, I started making what I call “cushions” that can be used for whatever someone wants. I’ve styled it as a jewelry holder, but it can just as easily be used as an interior decor piece, a key drop, a stitch marker holder (great for people who crochet!), or any other small items you want to hold in it.

This one, by far, is my favorite, but it got purchased before I could even take it to market after posting about it on TikTok. I have created a couple of others as well. Have a look!
