In getting back to blogging regularly, I wrestled with whether or not I should post personal things on my blog. I did for a long time, then got away from it. Maybe it’s based on my mood on how I’m feeling about mixing business and personal, but at the end of the day, this blog has documented a tremendous journey that bears great significance in my life and I hate that I’ve lost a lot of personal details along the way.
Five years ago, on January 12, 2012, I became a mother to my first born; a baby girl we named Carly Rae. The last five years have been incredible, straining, amazing, tiring, joyous, frustrating, and everything else you can imagine. She’s the one we learn with first. The one we have all of our “firsts” with. This past year, she started VPK and it was hard to transition into letting her out of my site, much less leaving her a few miles away, but as I mentioned, she’s the one we will experience all of these firsts with. Next year, she will start Kindergarten and before I know it, in the blink of an eye, she’ll be all grown up.
So today, my sweet, beautiful, kind hearted girl, I wish you a very happy 5th birthday. May it be filled with joy, love, smiles, and powerpuff girls!
