Last September, I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Jay and Colleen to photograph their beautiful wedding. Let me first say that I’m so blessed to have always been able to work with such fabulous couples. Like children, I don’t have one favorite over another, so when I rave about my couples, it’s really because I’m so blessed with each of them!
Jay and Colleen are so completely in love with each other and you could really tell by the way they looked, smiled, and laughed at and with each other. The day was beautifully perfect and we couldn’t have asked for nicer weather. Their families were so amazingly sweet and you could tell they blended beautifully.
There ceremony was unlike any other that I’ve done. I’ve never been “kicked out” of a ceremony before. I try to be very un-intrusive. Initially, the ladies at the church told me I could take pictures while they were walking down and up the aisle and that was it, however as soon as the ceremony started, the guests started taking pictures and the priest stopped the ceremony and told them no pictures, then he scanned the room for me and when he finally saw me he said, “That includes you” and did this little finger pointy/twisty thing. I was utterly embarrassed! Needless to say, the pictures of the ceremony below were shot through a window to the sanctuary… That’s definitely the funniest thing that’s happened to me, although embarrassing for sure!
Jay and Colleen – Thank you so much for hiring me as your wedding photographer. I remember after our first meeting at Panera feeling like I went on a great date and keeping my fingers crossed that I would get to be your wedding photographer. It’s been amazing getting to know you both and getting to meet the people in your lives that have helped shape you into the wonderful people you are. I truly wish you both the best and can’t wait to see what lies ahead in your future. XOXO
