I’m REALLY pleased to announce that Hannah, that big, beautiful American Staffordshire Terrier was adopted as of 10/18! I’m so pleased with seeing these older dogs who have been at The Jacksonville Humane Society for a long time are getting adopted out!
This leads me to wanting to give you all an update on The JRB Foundation. I recently booked a few weddings and portrait sessions. For anyone who is interested, 10% of the collection price of weddings and portraits are donated to The JRB Foundation. We also hosted mini sessions on 10/1 where $1 from each session was donated to The JRB Foundation. I’m happy to say, though I know it isn’t much, that since starting The JRB Foundation, we’ve contributed $208 to The JRB Foundation! I know it isn’t much, but I’m super happy that even in a small way, together with my clients, we can make a difference in the lives of animals.
Because I’m really open and public about it, I wanted to share with you how this money is being put to use. On my blog, as you may have noticed, I feature an adoption on my sidebar. The animal that I feature is a dog that has been at the humane society for awhile, who is a little older, and less likely to be adopted out as easily as a puppy. This doesn’t cost any money, but it leads to the cost I’m about to share with you. Through The JRB Foundation and Jen Shannon Photography, I go out to The Jacksonville Humane Society and take photos of the featured animal then provide a “thank you for adopting” gift of prints with a nice gift box. We also sponsor their adoption fee.
The JRB Foundation is still in its infancy and is evolving into something I’m very proud to be a part of. However, like with any non-profit, The JRB Foundation does have a financial need. In order to become a full fledged 501(c)(3) organization, we have to file for 501c3 status, which costs $400.
Because we have not yet been able to raise the funds to file for 501c3 status, we cannot ask for donations directly into the fund, however, I would like to ask that you purchase an 11×14 print of one or both of the photos from my fine art collection below. The cost is $15 (plus tax). All of the proceeds will be donated to The JRB Foundation. Together we can help raise the funds for The JRB Foundation to file for 501c3 status so we can then begin taking donations in addition to donating from my photo jobs and investing those into no-kill shelters in our area. Currently, I work with The Jacksonville Humane Society and they are doing an excellent deed for our community by not killing animals and finding them loving homes. Together we can help make Jacksonville a no-kill community.
Please consider purchasing one or both of the below fine art prints at a greatly reduced rate. To purchase a fine art print, please select the PayPal button below that corresponds with the print you’d like to purchase.
